Trip to the Channel Islands

I live in a most beautiful part of California in a city with the worst sounding name, Oxnard.  Henry Oxnard established a sugar beet factory here.  He intended to name the town Zachari, the Greek word for sugar, but the bureaucracy hassled him so he named it after himself.  I would like it to be called Channel Islands Beach or some such.  In any case it is on the Pacific coast between Santa Barbara and Malibu and the Channel Islands are just offshore.

When my eldest was here with his family in June of 2022 we went on a whale watch.  We didn't find any whales (although I have seen many from the boat's of my friends), we did see thousands of dolphins, including a few bottlenose.
